Concerning

PERMISSION and COMPENSATION

for Scripture Song Source music usage.

PERMISSION:

The copyright notice at the bottom of each SSS song reads:

"FOR USE IN LIVE CONGREGATIONAL, FELLOWSHIP MEETING OR PERSONAL WORSHIP."

What does this mean?!

Our intent is to allow the body of Christ, the Church, to use and enjoy gifts of music previously unpublished. They are yours to try, test, and fully use in the life of your church. We are proceeding with the conviction that God will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory.
(see COMPENSATION below.)
Permission for making of slides for overhead use and "in-house" song sheets is granted under CCLI guidelines. (These are for you and your fellowship only! We ask that you not give SSS songs to other groups or individuals. They need to visit the SSS website for themselves and download their own materials.) The notice continues...

"ALL OTHER RIGHTS RESERVED".

What does this mean?!

If you want this music for reasons beyond those listed above...e.g. to make a sound recording or a video using SSS songs, etc. ... you need to check with us BEFORE you begin your project! These instances, and those like them, would be considered a "business" transaction and would be treated in a normal business manner. When in doubt, contact us! (See "IN TOUCH" page.)

COMPENSATION:

Although these songs are being made available "freely" they are not without cost. So, how does Scripture Song Source survive giving away music?! Good question! (Maybe we won't survive!)

We potentially receive a financial return in any of three ways.

1. When SSS music is used by churches it should be reported to CCLI by those member churches who fill out the annual survey of music usage. A royalty results. If your church is not a member of CCLI it should be!

2. Formal requests for SSS music for use in "professional" projects may result in a royalty. (E.g. Sound recordings, videos, hymn books, etc.)

3. Churches who have used and benefited from SSS music may choose to send a financial gift in return for their appreciation. If Scripture Song Source music becomes a part of your life or congregation, we ask that you consider including us in your giving. Checks should be made out to 'Scripture Song Source'.

NOTE: Please include with your check an indication of which song(s) you have recently downloaded.

The "IN TOUCH" page gives the address to which any correspondence should be sent.
