How To Use SSS Songs
A quick look at the "Song Category" column on the Catalog page shows that Scripture Song Source songs can be used in at least four different ministries.

There is a lot of overlap between the 4 areas. What one church would call a "Solo" piece, another church takes the same and teaches the whole fellowship. It's not unusual for a HeartSeed song to end up being sung by whole congregations for a Sunday moming service. Below is a short "user guide" to the categories.

congregational

These songs are labeled for congregational use because they tend to be easier to sing. They range in style from devotional prayers(Psalm 86:11,12), to exhuberant joy(Psalm 59:16,17), to "high church" use(Matthew 6:9b-13), to reminders of absolute truth (I John 1:9). Presented here with full piano score, most of these pieces were first written with guitar accompaniment in mind. Be creative!

performance

These are more of a challenge for the singer or perhaps just more appropriate for a single voice. The public singing of the scripture by a soloist, especially if it is tied to the topic for the day, can be a powerful tool in preparing people to hear God's voice. The choral compositions in SSS run the gamut from simple(Revelations 22:17...), to moderate grade (Psalm 121), to more challenging (Psalm 66:1-5&8).

heartseed

HeartSeed grew out of the CYC children's ministry used in many churches. Memory verses had to be learned...approximately one a month. Four sessions with the kids and even the longest songs were learned. These tunes have a LOT more "spunk" and a lot of variety. They range from prayers to marches to calypso to rock. These songs stick!!

Scripture Song Source is happy to announce Scripture Release! our new sister website. Scripture Release! is the Navigator Topical Memory System put to music. If you have had challenges in the past memorizing or remembering important verses, you will find an easy solution in the Scripture Release series. SR! exists to help the listener find a deeper understanding of God's purposes by using music as the vehicle for memorization of God's word. This link will take you there.

heartseed

God Will Bless America is a song written by Dave Cook following the WTC attack in September 2001. With full orchestral/choral accompaniment, the lyrics resound with the need for America to "find unbounded courage" by standing along God's side. This link takes you to the Flash presentation. Free downloads of audio files and sheetmusic are featured.

"May the word of Christ dwell in you RICHLY..." the New Testament says. The songs of Scripture Song Source were... are... and will be written to make that verse come alive for many.

Enjoy!! Sing!! Teach!! Meditate!!
